McVay said during a conversation on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio that the Rams are “never going to shy away from opportunities to increase the competitiveness” of their roster, while also saying “there’s not too much of an update” on the situation as a whole. The Rams first traded for Ramsey in October of 2019, and then traded him to the Dolphins during the 2023 offseason. The 30-year-old corner will be moving from the Dolphins at some point this offseason, with May or June looking like the most likely months for a trade or release. Ramsey has appeared in 27 of a possible 34 regular season games for the Dolphins, totaling 82 tackles five interceptions and 16 pass breakups. Being able to designate Ramsey as a post-June 1 trade or release will help the Dolphins save more cap space, which is probably what is holding a deal up at this time.

Wolfe characterized the relationship as a “marriage” that “has essentially dissolved” and cites “salary cap relief” as the reason for the delay. Ramsey is guaranteed $24.235 million this season and although the Dolphins would have to take on $30.98 million in dead money with a post-June 1 release, they would also save $14.3 million, per Over The Cap. Were they to trade Ramsey after June 1st, the dead money drops to $6.745 million while the savings settle at $9.9 million. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer indicates that the Dolphins will likely have to eat extra cash to facilitate a trade but the significant dead money reduction helps them meet another team in the middle.

Ogbah, a 2016 second-round pick, joins a trio of former first-round picks in the Jaguars’ EDGE rotation. The former Dolphin dealt with triceps and biceps injuries in each of the last three seasons but managed to appear in 17-of-18 possible games in 2024, tallying 33 quarterback pressures and six sacks. He should remain effective in a part-time role this year.

Adams (6’2/182) is a long-armed, lanky cornerback who logged 48 career games at UCF, primarily playing outside in Addison Williams’ multiple-coverage scheme. A one-year starter, Adams shows glimpses of press-man potential, leveraging his frame to disrupt timing at the line. His length is ideal, but his tape reveals inconsistent technique and discipline, particularly when turning and transitioning in-phase — something reflected in his middling 4.70 RAS, with a 32.5-inch vertical and just a 9’9” broad jump. Despite some choppy footwork and a high-cut frame that can get awkward in transitions, Adams competes with urgency and flashes burst late when closing on the catch point. He allowed a 51.4 percent completion rate with only one touchdown and an 80.9 PFF coverage grade in 2024. His ball production (four PBUs in four seasons) remains concerning. Adams projects as a developmental press corner with special teams upside.

Asante (6’0.5/223) falls prey to mental lapses at times, but his high-end speed and agility will make him a considerable special teams weapon in year one. His 1.52-second 10-yard split clocked at the NFL Scouting Combine ties for the positional high. If Asante (24 years old) can improve his decision-making, he can theoretically handle a three-down role, chasing ball carriers on early downs and serving as a part-time blitzer on passing downs. Among 56 Power Five linebackers with at least 100 blitzes over the last two seasons, Asante’s 30.4 percent quarterback pressure rate ranks No. 1 overall and his 14.7 percent pass-rush win rate ties for sixth.

Armstrong (6’4/202) redshirted as a freshman at Texas A&M Commerce, didn’t play as a sophomore because of COVID-19, and was a backup as a junior. Finally in a starting role as a senior, he topped 1,000 yards and scored 13 times in just 11 games. The breakout season caught the eye of Arkansas’s coaching staff via the transfer portal and he joined the Razorbacks for two seasons. He went for 764 yards and five scores in his first season at Arkansas and then led the SEC with 78 catches and 1,140 yards in 2024. He did, however, only bring down one touchdown. For better or worse, Armstrong plays at every bit of 6’4. He won 18-of-29 contested targets in his final season, but nearly a quarter of his total targets were contested. Armstrong is lanky and doesn’t create separation with his routes, but he does win the looks thrown his way. The lack of separation and a late breakout make him a high-risk pick for NFL teams.

After redshirting at Oklahoma, Conyers (6’4/260) spent three years at Arizona State before spending his final season at Texas Tech. He caught 30 passes for 320 yards and five touchdowns in his last season, adding two rushing touchdowns and a passing score. Conyers tested best among tight ends at the NFL Combine in both the three-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle. He is a good athlete who can work in the short area and make contested catches. Although his blocking is inconsistent, Conyers has a flexible skill-set and can be moved around the field. Conyers’ athleticism has gotten him into the NFL, but he will need to clean up his route running and blocking to stick around a tight end room.

Wease (6’3/200) is a sixth-year prospect who spent four seasons at Oklahoma before transferring to Mizzou in 2023. He appeared in 63 games during his college career, but his production was often inconsistent. Wease surpassed 600 receiving yards just twice, and was seldom viewed as anything more than a serviceable WR2 wherever he played. Wease was never a target dominator, and has a career TPRR of 0.205, though some of this can be attributed to the fact that he played alongside productive college talents like Marvin Mims and Luther Burden. Wease has the ideal size to play on the outside, which is where he lined up on 87.8 percent of his career snaps, per PFF. To his credit, Wease saved his best performance for last, totaling 60 receptions for 884 yards and four touchdowns in 2024, leading all Missouri pass catchers in receiving yards. He makes up for his subpar athleticism (4.27 RAS) with his ability to win contested catches (56.3 contested catch rate 2023-2024), but Wease will need an impressive training camp if he hopes to stick on a 53-man roster. He’s a prime candidate to start his career on the practice squad.

Biggers (6’5/321) is aptly named, boasting an elite frame (89th percentile weight, 97th percentile height) and wingspan tailor-made for clogging lanes. A two-year starter in Tyler Santucci’s multiple-front defense, Biggers was a first- and second-down anchor, logging 81.2 percent of his 2024 snaps early in series. His strength flashes with occasional knockback and club-swat wins, and he’s a special teams maven with four blocked kicks in his career. But despite an 8.21 RAS, Biggers’ traits outpace his tape. His 29.5 tackling grade and 26.9 percent missed tackle rate reflect a defender who lumbers rather than explodes. With just two career sacks and a career-high 3.5 TFLs in 2024, he’s more potential than polish. He’s scheme-versatile enough to project as a 3-4 DE or even 4i in odd fronts, but will need refinement, urgency, and play-finishing consistency to stick.
