Davis, who secured $24 million in guarantees when he signed with Jacksonville last year, managed 20 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns over ten games in his only year with the Jags. The Davis signing is yet another in a string of disastrous decisions by the former Jacksonville front office. With Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter in the fold, the Jaguars ended their experiment with Davis, 26. He should see interest from wideout-needy teams in the coming weeks, including perhaps the Lions. Davis will be locked into a strictly downfield role wherever he lands this spring or summer.

Ridder is a former third-round pick of the Falcons in 2022 and started 13 games for them in 2023. Atlanta moved on from Ridder after his 12-touchdown, 12-interception season; he joined the Raiders to play six games and start one in 2024. The 25-year-old is searching for backup jobs around the NFL after throwing for 5.4 yards per attempt and earning a 45.7 PFF grade last season, good for No. 69 out of 75 quarterbacks. The Broncos will bring him into rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, where Ridder looks to earn the chance to compete with Sam Ehlinger for the third-string quarterback spot in Denver.

The writing was on the wall after the draft, where Baltimore drafted rookie kicker Tyler Loop as Tucker’s replacement. Tucker has spent most of the late season and offseason dealing with sexual misconduct allegations from massage therapists in Baltimore-area spas, and had by far the worst season of his career in 2024, making 73.3 percent of his 30 field-goal attempts. The Ravens stood by him throughout the process and framed moving on from him as a “football decision” in a statement, but it’s hard to believe they would have moved on from him if not for the allegations. Tucker will likely have to clear his name, as Brandon McManus did this past offseason, before he gets another NFL chance. The NFL’s investigation into Tucker’s behavior is, per CBS’ Jonathan Jones, still “under review.”

A former third-round pick of the 49ers back in 2022, Davis-Price has appeared in just eight games during his career, amassing 127 scoreless yards on the ground on 43 carries. The former LSU Tiger has struggled to find his footing in the pros, and will be battling to make a 53-man roster wherever he lands next.

Updating a prior report from NBC Houston’s Aaron Wilson, the Texans hosted Hines, along with former Bengals RBs Trayveon Williams and Chris Evans, for a workout yesterday. Despite drafting former USC RB Woody Marks in the fourth round, the Texans appear dead set on adding another speedy pass-catching running back to the mix. Although Hines was technically under contract with the Bills (2023) and Browns (2024), he has not played football since tearing his ACL in a July 2023 jet skiing accident.

Firkser joined the Chiefs’ practice squad halfway through the 2024 season after he was released by the Jets. He appeared in three games for the Chiefs and four for the Jets last season but didn’t see a target and primarily played special teams. The 30-year-old veteran last caught a pass in the NFL for the Falcons in 2022 and was a productive rotational tight end for the Titans from 2018-2021. Now a free agent, Firkser will look to support a team’s tight end depth in 2025.

Clearing roster space for their rookie class, the Cowboys also parted ways with OG Jack Anderson, LB Brock Mogensen, and OT Earl Bostick Jr. Davis spent 2024 on the Cowboys’ practice squad and signed a reserve/futures contract with them at the end of the season. He is a long-shot to make an NFL roster this year.

Travis suffered a catastrophic ankle injury late in his final season at Florida State in 2023. The Jets took a shot on him in the fifth round of the draft, but Travis suffered a setback in his recovery and did not play as a rookie. In his statement via the team, Travis said his leg never responded the way he had hoped and the medical staff advised him to return. It’s a sad ending for a player who had a future in the NFL before his tragic injury.

Waugh had been with the Jaguars since 2022, with Trent Baalke as the team’s general manager. He was the interim general manager until James Gladstone was permanently hired to the role. Waugh was tied to the Baalke regime and though he stayed on through the draft, he now parts ways with the Jaguars.
